"Invalid IP range" message when adding IP Pools to NatRouted Organization Networks

"Invalid IP range" message when adding IP Pools to NatRouted Organization Networks

When trying to add an IP Pool for a natRouted Organization Network, the message "invalid ip range" is presented for subnet masks other than /24 bits.

To be able to submit your IP range:

  1. Add a name for your Organization Network

  2. Add a Description (optional field)

  3. Add your Network Type as 'natRouted'

  4. Add your Gateway IP Address

  5. Add your Subnet Mask

  6. Add your Starting IP and Ending IP using the formula: (number of hosts in your subnet mask) - 3

  7. Click in New Range to insert your range to IP Pools table

  8. Submit

When adding your IP pool based in your network subnet mask, keep in mind that three IP addresses will be reserved in this network configuration and these are the network identifier IP (e.g. 192.168.1.0), the broadcast IP (e.g. 192.168.1.255) and the gateway IP chosen in your configuration (e.g. 192.168.1.1). If you add an IP pool without excluding these 3 IPs from the total of hosts in your subnet a message saying "invalid ip range" will be presented to you.
