Best Practice Workflow for Setting Up HyAlto Service Pricing in ConnectWise

When you are setting up pricing in ConnectWise for services being generated from HyAlto, you should be aware of the integration workflow described below to avoid any rework or downstream issues.

 

It is best to rename the product IDs, set price, cost and descriptions in the ConnectWise Product Catalog under Procurement ahead of creating any live or actual services for your client.  When a HyAlto Solution (our template for creating client services) is created, we immediately push the Solution properties to ConnectWise ahead of any procurement or mapping activity.  

 

With those Solution properties available in ConnectWise, you can set product IDs, price, cost and other changes through the ConnectWise Product Catalog.  Once this occurs, ConnectWise will apply those modifications to every addition created through a HyAlto mapping or procurement moving forward.  Basically, you make the modifications once in the Product Catalog ensuring all subsequently generated services utilize those same prices, descriptions …

 

If you wait and only make product IDs, price, cost and other changes in any ConnectWise addition created as a result of a HyAlto procurement or mapping activity, ConnectWise will only apply those changes to that specific addition.  All subsequent additions generated by the same HyAlto solution will be created with the original HyAlto alphanumeric product id, no price, no cost ……. unnecessarily necessitating the redefining of product IDs, price, cost and so on.
