Hyalto Support for vCloud v10

All Hyalto features supported in vCloud 9.x are also supported in vCloud 10.x.  A number of new vCloud 10.x features are under consideration for enhanced support in Hyalto.  These consist of

  • Datacenter group functionality - Stretch networks

  • vCloud Availability – replication DRaaS

  • Flex Allocation Model

  • NSX-T

  • VM Sizing Policy

  • Named Disks

Hyalto will provide updates on any enhanced vCloud 10.x feature decisions through the bi-weekly, customer-issued release notes.

Also, be aware of a known issue vCloud Director 10.0.0.0 regarding the AMQP Broker settings, which Hyalto uses.  The HTML5 client for vCD 10 has a bug that doesn’t allow for saving and testing the AMQP user password.  Hyalto reported this bug to VMware in late 2019 and they issued an update to vCD, version 10.0.0.1, in mid-January that resolves the issue.

The best option to avoid the AMQP issue is to upgrade to vCD version 10.0.0.1.  If that is not feasible in the short term for you, there is a circumvention provided by VMware which uses the Flex user interface to configure the AMQP broker settings.  https://kb.vmware.com/s/article/76149
