HyAlto allows you to create a vCloud Director catch-all solution that you can use to map existing virtual data centres (VDC) into HyAlto during a brownfield exercise.
Step 1: From your HyAlto portal, click Marketplace, then Solutions.
Step 2: In the top right corner, click the orange Add button to add a new solution. Select the appropriate VDC allocation model from the available solution types in the drop-down menu then click Select.
Note: You will require a unique catch-all solution for each VDC type in your datacenter.
Step 3: Under Name, write out the name of the solution for your own personal reference.
Step 4: Select the currency that you wish to use for your solution, then add a logo or image. HyAlto will adjust the image or logo you select to the proper dimensions automatically. Click Next.
Step 5: Select the appropriate vCloud automator, you will likely only have one choice unless you have connected HyAlto to multiple vCloud Director instances. Then select the appropriate Provider Virtual Datacenter, you will need to create multiple catch-all solutions if multiple Provider Virtual Datacenters have been defined in vCloud Director. Click Next.
Step 6: In the name field, you may enter a default machine name for this catch-all solution.
Step 7: Select the minimum and maximum values for RAM that fit the existing virtual datacenter you would like to brownfield into HyAlto. Leave the increments to the default values. The minimum/maximum values matter when mapping a catch-all solution but increments and resource guarantees can be left at default values.
Note: HyAlto will change the numbers automatically based on the increment value you select.
Step 8: Select the minimum and maximum values that fit the existing virtual datacenters that you want to brownfield. Leave the default increment values next to Compute.
Step 9: Choose the appropriate Network Pool from the drop-down and leave the provisioning boxes unchecked.
Step 10: Select the storage policy that is being used by the Virtual Datacenter meeting the catch-all solution requirements, choose the minimum and maximum values, and leave the default increment values.
Note: If multiple storage policies are being used by your customers' Virtual Datacenter, you must add them all by clicking on the Add Storage Policy button below.
Step 11: If you need to track the number of Virtual Machines per Virtual Datacenter, click the gear icon ⚙ and change the Display Value to Read Only. Click Next.
Step 12: Keep the solution unavailable by leaving the Is Available box unchecked. Leave the Client Account drop-down unselected as well, then click Submit in the bottom right.
Your vCloud catch-all solution is now ready.
