XaaS (Anything as a Service) allows you as the MSP to create a Solution using a form editor to gather information from the client about certain services you want to sell.

The MSP creates a form that the client fills out. Once the client fills out and submits the form, a confirmation email is sent to the MSP with all information the client filled out. At this point, the MSP can then proceed with setting up the service the client purchased using the information provided.

Some examples of XaaS:

AntiVirus License

Backup Service

Operating System License

Technical/Professional Service

SPLA

Hardware rental

Public IP Addresses

Merchandise

XaaS Solution Form Labels

There are 4 types of labels that you can add to the XaaS form, and you can add the same label multiple times.

Text Label

Text labels can be used to get information from the client based on text input. There are 2 types of text labels:

  • Text Field - A single line of text
  • Text Area - Multiple lines of text

Range Label

Range labels are used to get a numeric value from the client between a minimum and maximum value. There are 2 types of range labels:

  • Slider - Use a graphical slider to allow the client to select a value
  • Number Input - The client must enter a numeric value

Select Label

Select labels lets the client pick from a list of items whether it's one or multiple selections. There are 3 types of select labels:

  • Checkbox - Allows multiple selections from a list of items
  • Radio - Allows a single selection from a list of items
  • Dropdown - Same as radio, except the items are gathered in a dropdown textbox. Great for a lot of items.

Resource Label

Resource labels lets the client select one or multiple VMWare related services. This includes:

  • vCenter VM's
  • vCloud Director vDC, vApps, and VM's

The client can only select services that they have purchased or have been mapped to.

Utilizing these 4 label types will allow you to create a very dynamic form. Each label along with the fields in each label is priceable as well. Also, each label can be set as a required label or not. If set as required, the client must fill in or make a selection in order to complete the order.

Approval Process

You can set the XaaS solution to be Approved by the MSP first before the service can be activated. At the bottom of the form builder, there is an option to enable the Approval Process. This will allow the MSP to either Approve or Reject the service. If a Service is Accepted, the billing period will begin on the day and time of the approval. If Rejected, the service will be canceled and billing will not begin.

The MSP can Approve a Pending XaaS Services by going to the XaaS Automator and select the Approve Service icon. A list of all Pending Services will be listed. Click on 'Pending Approval' to either Accept or Reject the service.

Monitor Purchased Services

At any time, you can view all Approved and Purchased XaaS services in the XaaS Automator by selecting the XaaS automator. You can view the Services either by Solution or by Account. Either view will allow the MSP to view each Service that has been purchased by the clients and view the form that the client filled out.
