Requesting a CNAME for your Portal URL
HyAlto provides you with the ability to create a vanity URL to better suit the needs of your business. If you would like to change your default HyAlto portal URL of company_name.hyalto.com to a different name, we can help create a CNAME record using your preferred Domain name. The process is time-sensitive (see below) and requires a HyAlto service request or ticket to be issued as there is some manual intervention tasks to be done by HyAlto staff to facilitate the process. The steps to get this setup are as follows:
Open a Service Request with support@hyalto.com noting that you want to change the portal URL to a different name, stating the full URL as <subdomain>.<your_domain>.com
Our Network team will generate a CNAME Validation Record that will look like this:
Name | Type | Value |
---|---|---|
_280ed5ba3476587343a7f7e7457a113f.sub.yourCompany.com | CNAME | _6s8f5g8sd7f6a7f67d5g86sd5866d7f96ad7gsd9sd9.acm-validations.aws. |
3. HyAlto support staff will send you this CNAME Validation record which needs to be inserted in your DNS Server by one of your Network Administrators. Once the record is added to your DNS Server, our platform services running on Amazon Web Services (AWS) will validate that the record has been added in the correct DNS and that it matches the Domain.
PLEASE NOTE!! - The Validation record has a Time-To-Live of 72 Hours (3 Days) before it expires. If the validation record expires, you will need to request a new one.
4. Once successful, HyAlto will receive an alert from AWS that the Validation is complete. At that time, we will send you the CNAME Record, this time with the full CNAME record content. It will look like this:
Name | Type | Value |
---|---|---|
subdomain.your_domain.com | CNAME | shjg78w4fb9ef.cloudfront.net |
5. Have your Network admin add this record to our DNS server. Once this record is added you will be able to view the HyAlto Portal using your new CNAME Alias URL <subdomain>.<your_domain>.com.
