Deploying Hyalto Service Adaptor

The HyAlto Service Adapter is a VM that allows HyAlto to communicate with your vCloud Director environment. There are two steps you must follow for HyAlto to pull resources from your vCenter or vCloud Director. First, deploy the HyAlto Service Adapter OVA package into your vCenter (or another vCenter if it can see both the vCenter/vCloud Director and HyAlto SaaS). After deployment is complete, you can then set up an Automator for vCloud Director in HyAlto Service Provider Portal which will allow you to map solutions to clients or manage certain resources within HyAlto.

Deploying the HyAlto service adaptor into vCenter

Download the latest OVA package from the Automator configuration page or request the HyAlto Service Adapter OVA package from one of our Support agents. Once you have the HyAlto Service Adapter, deploy it into your vCenter.

The environment for deploying the HyAlto Service Adapter must meet these minimum requirements:

  • An ESXi Host with the following resources available for HyAlto ASAA VM deployment:

    • CPU – 2GHz

    • RAM – 8GB

    • Storage – 10GB

  • If behind a firewall, you will need an IP Address with the following INBOUND rule:

    • Allow all traffic to the HyAlto Service Adapter IP on ports 8080 and 443. Make sure to use DPI-SSL (TLS)

    • Allow traffic from the IP 207.35.212.109 to the Hyalto Service Adaptor IP on port 22

  • The VMWare environments supported by the HyAlto Service Adapter are:

    • vCenter 6.0, 6.5, 6.7

    • vCloud Director 8.20, 9.0, 9.1, 9.5, 9.7

    • NSX-V 6.3.x, 6.4.x

Follow these steps to deploy the HyAlto Service Adaptor (this example will be using vCenter 6.5 Web-Portal in Flash)

Step 1. Right click on the datacenter or cluster on which you want to deploy the HyAlto Service Adaptor and select “Deploy OVF Template”

Step 2. You can either paste the link to the HyAlto Service Adaptor OVA package, or if you downloaded the adaptor just click browse and then click on the file.

Step 3. Select which datacenter to use.

Step 4. Select a cluster to deploy the HyAlto Service Adaptor into.

Step 5. Select a datastore.

Step 6. Select a network.

Step 7. The last step is to create a custom template that allows you to deploy the OVA with a static or dynamic IP.

If you choose static, make sure the IP address you choose is in CIDR Format (X.X.X.X/X).  e.g. 192.168.0.2/24.

Click next, then click finish to watch the OVA import into your vCenter. Power it on once the import is complete.
